All-on-4 Dental Implants in Sterling, VA

Potomac, Ashburn All-on-4 Dentist

If you are a patient who is missing multiple teeth, all-on-4 dental implants might be the right dental intervention for you. This involves using four titanium alloy rods that are interconnected to multiple teeth in order to fill in the gaps. This methodology ensures that a patient can replace a great number of missing teeth, but does not have to have a single implant for every tooth that is missing. The dedicated team at WestLake Dental Care is experienced in providing patients with all-on-4 implants and helping to restore their smile.

What Are All-on-4 Implants?

Many people believe that all-on-4 dental implants are the same as multiple teeth replacement services. However, this is not true. This is because while multiple teeth replacement services replace each missing tooth with a single dental implant, all-on-4 services focus on replacing teeth in a process that uses less dental implants, using just 4 implants to replace an entire arch of missing teeth.

The Benefits of All-On-4 Dental Implants

While all dental implants offer patients a number of phenomenal benefits, all-on-4 dental implants offer some unique advantages. Below outlines a few notable benefits anyone considering this dental treatment should know:

They minimize infection, which can occur when missing tooth gaps are left in the mouth.

There are very few to no food restrictions once your mouth has healed from the procedure.

The only maintenance required is brushing/flossing, just like a patient does for their other natural teeth.

They are more sturdy and more durable than dentures, which can slip around in a patient’s mouth.

If properly maintained, they can last for 20 years or longer.

The WestLake Dental Care All-on-4 Procedure

Since all-on-4 treatment is basically multiple dental implants, the process is similar to that of dental implants. However, the main difference is the number of screws, and the number of crowns that sit on each screw. Here are the basic steps that occur during this procedure:

Anesthesia. To start the process, you will be put under anesthesia. This is so that you will not feel any pain throughout the procedure, and can lay comfortably without being anxious.

Teeth removal. Some patients will already have their teeth missing. However, for those individuals that need a few teeth removed before the implants can be put in, this is the next step.

The incision. An incision will now be made where the titanium alloy screws will go. Typically, a dentist will put two screws in the front of the mouth, and 2 screws (1 on each side) in the back. This guarantees good stability.

Screwing the implants in. The screws will then be put into their appropriate spot. Here, they will begin to fuse with your jawbone over the span of a couple of months.

Crown implementation. Once the healing process has come to an end, your dentist will put on permanent, porcelain crowns. This will cover up the titanium alloy rods and look similar to your natural teeth! When it comes to all-on-4 treatment, many crowns may be connected and all supported by a single titanium alloy rod.
